**IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION TO ALL DIPLOMA STUDENTS AND COLLEGES**

The Diploma of Information Technology will be revised to be delivered online and renamed in the near future. Therefore the ACS will not be offering the DIT qualification to new students from 2012.

  • No new students will be accepted into the DIT current program after the October 2011 examination period.
  • Current students will need to complete the DIT exams, up to and including, the October 2014 examination period.

The Australian Computer Society is proud to offer the qualification of Diploma of Information Technology.
The ACS Diploma of Information Technology comprises eight compulsory subjects; Systems Analysis, Programming, Computer Organisation, Data Management, Object Oriented Systems Development, Computer Communications, Professional Practice and Systems Principles.

Assessment is via external examinations offered three times per year on the last two weekends in February, June and October. Examinations may be sat anywhere in the World and candidates may prepare either by attending a college teaching an appropriate course or by using their own resources. All examinations are based upon a case study, or workplace scenario.

Upon completion of the Diploma of Information Technology and with relevant industry experience, students may be eligible for Associate level membership of the ACS. It also entitles a candidate to credit equivalent to one academic year of a Bachelor of Information Technology at many Australian universities.

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is a registered training organisation authorised to issue the ICA50105 Diploma of Information Technology (General) qualification as defined within the ICA05 Training Package.
