Membership Grades


 

Fellow

A Fellow is a person who:
  • has made a distinguished contribution to the field of information technology in Australia; AND
  • is a Member; AND
  • satisfies the criteria for admission of Fellows set out in the Guidelines for Membership.
Companion

A Companion is a person who:

  • is a senior manager in information technology or a member of another profession who has a significant involvement with information technology; AND
  • is not eligible for admission to a Grade that is part of Professional Division; AND
  • satisfies the criteria for admission of Companions set out in the Guidelines for Membership.
Senior Member

A Senior Member is a person who:

  • has undertaken a significant amount of postgraduate academic training and/or professional development; OR
  • has undertaken a significant amount of demanding and challenging Industry Experience in a position of major responsibility; OR
  • has undertaken an acceptable amount, in aggregate, of postgraduate academic training and/or professional development and/or demanding and challenging Industry Experience in a position of major responsibility; AND
  • is a Member; AND
  • satisfies the criteria for admission of Senior Members set out in the Guidelines for Membership
Member

A Member is a person who:

  • has completed a Professional Level Course; OR
  • satisfies the Society that he or she has acquired the Core Body of Knowledge through demonstrated equivalence; AND
  • has at least 4 years' Relevant Professional Experience; AND
  • satisfies the criteria for admission of Members set out in the Guidelines for Membership.
Provisional Member

A Provisional Member is a person who:

  • has completed a Professional Level Course; AND
  • satisfies the criteria for admission of Members set out in the Guidelines for Membership
Associate

An Associate is a person who:

  • has completed a Professional Level Course and has at least 2 years' Industry Experience; OR
  • satisfies the Society that he or she has acquired an acceptable portion of the Core Body of Knowledge and has at least 2 years' Industry experience; AND
  • satisfies the criteria for admission of Associates set out in the Guidelines for Membership.
Provisional Associate

A Provisional Associate is a person who:

  • has completed an Associate Level Course; AND
  • satisfies the criteria for admission of Provisional Associates set out in the Guidelines for Membership.

A Student is a person who:
